Powerful Message

I know so many people who are dealing with crisis issues and are carrying the weight of the world on their shoulders and as I was reading my devotional, I found this profound message at the end:

"Remember, the very time for faith to work is when our sight begins to fail. And the greater the difficulties, the easier it is for faith to work, for as long as we can see certain natural solutions to our problems, we will not have faith. Faith never works as easily as when our natural prospects fail" George Meuller

Somthing to Ponder...

In order to see the blessing or the benefits from our captivity, we must accept the situation and be determined to make the best of it.  Worrying over what we have lost or what has been taken from us will not make things better but will only prevent us from improving what remains.  We will only serve to make the rope around us tighter if we rebel against it.

Water for Elephants Finale

This book was profound in a lot of ways.  I am sure I am the only one who may feel this way, but being in social work, I find it inspiring to read about an elderly person's life, true or not! Jacob's life was interesting and his amazing history did not go unnoticed at the end!

This book was a lite but very good read.  It was filled with action and enough intrigue of this man's life that the reader feels as if they are linked to him in some way.  By the end of the book I was giddy and excited that Jacob had his happy ending!

Though I believe it is a love it or hate it book, I recommend it!

Water For Elephants, Harry Potter and more

Since the Harry Potter film is coming out I have decided to pick up and dust off "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows".  It was a great read before but I am sure it will be even better the second time around!

I am still reading "Water for Elephants" and though it is a light read, there are dark undertones that I cannot place my finger on.  The book is well written and keeps you wondering as to what will happen next and where she is taking the characters that have been so well developed throughout the previous chapters.  To be continued....
